Sherri Godsey
The first books Sherri remembers reading were the Wizard of Oz and other books in the Oz series. She loved fantasy and it has remained her favorite genre. She began writing for personal pleasure when she was young, but never thought to seriously pursue a writing career.
Born in California, she has spent most of her life in Texas, returned to California for a time (and a brief marriage), lived in southern Spain, and returned to Texas. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Archaeology, worked on a masters in geology (theses not completed), and has worked as an environmental consultant for almost 20 years.
In the early 1990’s she took a creative writing course, joined a critique group, and was introduced to Romance Writers of America. She belongs to the Dallas Area Romance Authors chapter of RWA, and the marvelous networking, conferences, and workshops of that organization have been invaluable in honing her writing skills. She has placed in numerous writing contests, including being a finalist twice in the RWA’s Golden Heart Contest for Unpublished Writers. While she enjoys romance and has written several unpublished romance novels, her true voice comes to life in her first love, fantasy.
Her duology, The Dragons’ Veil and The Dragons’ Vision, has been such fun to write, she is working on a series of tales about the various secondary characters from those two books. Sherri lives in Plano, Texas with her mother and Katie, a perky little Shorkie Tzu (1/2 Yorkie-1/2 Shih Tzu) who rules the homestead like a tyrant.
