Marked for life by reading\u00a0Dracula\u00a0<\/em>at the age of twelve, Margaret L. Carter specializes in the literature of fantasy and the supernatural, particularly vampires. She received degrees in English from the College of William and Mary, the University of Hawaii, and the University of California, with her dissertation published as\u00a0Specter or\u00a0Delusion? The Supernatural in Gothic Fiction<\/em>. Her other works include\u00a0Dracula: The Vampire and the Critics<\/em>,\u00a0The Vampire In\u00a0Literature: A Critical Bibliography<\/em>, and\u00a0Different Blood: The Vampire\u00a0As Alien<\/em>. She is also the author of a werewolf novel,\u00a0Shadow Of The\u00a0Beast<\/em>, and four vampire novels,\u00a0Dark Changeling\u00a0<\/em>(2000 Eppie Award winner in Horror),\u00a0Child Of Twilight<\/em>,\u00a0Sealed In Blood<\/em>, and\u00a0Crimson\u00a0Dreams<\/em>, along with a fantasy novel,\u00a0Wild Sorceress<\/em>, co-written by her husband Les Carter, and a horror novel,\u00a0From The Dark Places<\/em>.<\/p>\n
