She graduated from Northwestern College, Iowa, with a BA in theater\/English, and from Regent University, Virginia, with an MA in communication (film\/writing). She started her writing journey in fan fiction&#8211;Star Trek, Highlander, the Phoenix, Beauty &amp; the Beast, Stingray, among others.
