Fang from Yang Yawn<\/h1>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m Fang of Yang Yawn, I live with me mate
\nPat the swagman, retired of late.
\nHe found me by the river, a pup
\nMy eyes still shut, he picked me up,
\nA yelping bundle, without any hair.
\n‘E took me back home into his care.<\/p>\n

I grew very fast, big, and strong
\nwithout any hair, but a tail real long.
\nAt the pub, I made ’em all dart.
\nI was the freak, with a strange loud bark.
\nI could swim like a fish and run very fast
\nIf Pat was teased, I give ’em a blast!<\/p>\n

My skin’s like leather, tough and dark.
\nMy mouth is huge. My growl’s a bark.
\nMy body’s long and legs real short.
\nI growl and snap, grunt and snort.
\nThe other dogs keep real clear,
\ncower in the corner, whimper in fear.<\/p>\n

Pat and I go on our way;
\nwe go for walks, swim, and play.
\nI splash in and dive underneath,
\nKnowing how to hold my breath,
\nthen catch some fish for us to eat.
\nPat gives a hug, and then a treat.<\/p>\n

One day a croc came to the river
\nmaking swimmers scream and shiver.
\nPat and I went there and saw
\na boy dragged off from the shore
\nby big white teeth and scaly claw.
\nI jumped in after, and clacked my jaw.<\/p>\n

The Doc and Vet grabbed a bandage,
\nwhile I snarled out in croc language.
\nI growled and snapped in a vicious tone;
\nthe Croc sighed and said with a moan,
\n‘Cripes, ya the image of ya mum.
\nI can’t eat you, my little chum!’<\/p>\n

He opened up his mouth real wide,
\nlet the boy go and saved his hide.
\nHe splashed his tail and swam away,
\nnae seen again from that day.
\nThat is how the legend began
\nof the croc forlorn and brave young Fang.<\/p>\n

There’s pats and cheers now when I pass.
\nI lap beer from me very own glass.
\nI’m famous like mum, a dog called Skye.
\nHer dad’s on the box at Gundagai!
\nBut truth is ‘tween you and me,
\nThe croc was me dad! Now don’t ya see?<\/p>\n
