Dance with the Devil
Tom Holloway and his friends are excited about joining the war effort, envisioning adventure, something to prove their manhood, and a diversion. Ultimately, they anticipate becoming heroes. Words from a grizzled war veteran make Tom wonder whether his ideas of war are more romantic than realistic. Watching friends and comrades die teaches them all the truth of war. Will hell, hunger, cold, and fear be the only comrades left when the war is over?
